Kevin Kramp is an emerging men's knitwear designer recognized internationally for his sophisticated high-concept work, including innovative exploration of shape and beautiful use of colour, pattern, stitch technique, and luxury fiber.
Kramp's work has been featured in international fashion and style publications in the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Africa, Japan, Australia, and the US, and he is the recipient of several grants and awards for his creative work. Kramp holds a first Bachelor's degree in Visual Art and Italian Studies from Brown University, a second Bachelor's Honours degree in Fashion Design with Knitwear from London's world-famous Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, and he has apprenticed and worked with designers and creatives around the world, including in London, Italy, Brazil and New York.
“Throughout my career, I continue to focus my energies on cultivating a strong sense of self identity, and creating very, very good work. I do not suffer fools, nor does my creative product. Abundant enthusiasm for mediocre work is unacceptable, idiotic, and far too common. I am committed to my career work as a knitwear designer, and I have developed a passionate, truthful conviction which informs and defends all stated thoughts and design work.”
Kramp’s artistic message includes: “Live your life. Pursue joy. Smile and say hello to the beautiful stranger in the street who is too shy to do so first. There is no ‘will be given’; there is only ‘take.’ Be visionary, inventive, brave and intelligent. Above all, focus your energies on exceptional work.”
“I want people who view my work to be taken aback, for one moment, by the unexpected experience of beauty. My work is stunning, and I want them to be stunned. I want them to know that I am serious about my work, and that I expect them to be knowledgeable, worldy, enthusiastic, progressive, self-challenging thinkers capable of taking risks and humility for the purpose of significant personal growth.”
