Next summer, fashion accessories will turn into personalities… Famous names of couture, cinema, music, arts, or even anonymous people have left their print on accessories and turned them into iconographic supports. With a cut or a detail, you can easily identify a look, a style or even a person.
Designers subtly play with defacements and suggestions to avoid simple reproductions. Their creations are emblazoned with the image of… almost giving the impression that figures are dancing.
Jean-Paul Gaultier’s or Coco Chanel’s outfits on a brooch; Embroidered portraits of Gene Simmons or Mickael Jackson made of beads, no doubt iconography will be the big thing in next summer’s collections.
And along with this new trend, accessories are undergoing great mutations: materials are reinvented; techniques change and codes blow up. In brief, accessories aim at telling different stories and want to be worn differently.
