In other words, an excellent start for this creative collective launched in 2002 by Verbal & Yoon in the seismic city!
Verbal, rap artist, was inspired by his Pop Art and Hip Hop background, punctuated with stylist Yoon’s rock touch.
"At the beginning, it was all about creating my own jewels, unique pieces that matched my style", says Verbal.
A simple urge, with no business plan in mind… But then, when Kanye West asks for your creations, it’s quite normal to become a little more ambitious !
In 2004, the collective launched their jewellery brand under the name Antonio Murphy & Astro®. Under the influence of hip-hop, the brand features original and bright creations, very much reminiscent of animation films. If you think we’re talking about cheap jewellery for young pimply teenagers, you’re wrong: we’re talking stones, gold and diamonds. Verbal and Yoon made a real statement with this Pow!® collection, anything but conventional!
Surfing the wave of success, Antonio Murphy & Astro® launched a second line in 2008. Resolutely anti-gloom, AMBUSH® is a logical sequel to the first opus, just a little more experimental, using a wide variety of materials.
No doubt: our two designers’ charisma will soon surprise us again in the near future!
