Converse, a hundred years old and still bold! // Happening // Added 2008/07/21 at 13:00

Exhibitions, dozens of new models, an exclusive musical collaboration... With a fun-packed agenda, Converse is celebrating its 100 years of existence all over the world. A true piece of news just like we dig them with awesome video featuring sneakers.
On a top of the dozens of new models often inspired by the old collections, Converse commissioned 100 musicians, graphic and graffiti artists from all over the world to create one-of-a-kind sneaker designs inspired by the global fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. To be exhibited in selected and exclusive places, such as Canvas in Malibu, or even the brand headquarters in New York.
Also, don’t forget to check out the result of the collaboration between N*E*R*D’s Pharell (track producer), Santogold and Julian Casablancas. What happens when Converse puts 3 of the world’s most wanted artists in a shaker? A track called "My Drive Thru" who won’t go down in history, but is still cool to listen to. And the work done on the video clip is hallucinating! Other musical collaborations should follow to celebrate the brand’s B-day. Yeah, well…
All that reminds me that I’m invited to a birthday party tonight… still have to buy some champagne… and the iPhone 2 would make a perfect gift.
Wow, I made it! Mentioning Pharell, Converse and the 'iPhone 2 in the same piece of news… that was quite a challenge!
