A brand new bilingual magazine that dissects the latest culinary trends… From amazing New York burgers to French sole meuniere and Berlin cheap fast food trips, this new magazine has just released an excellent first issue with no use-by date.

Meet Nicolas Guthart, co-founder of the DNR group, Shoes-Up magazine, WAF Agency, L'Imprimerie Gallery and FRICOTE magazine.

Hi Nicolas, and thanks for giving us a little of your time
First of all, after the success of Shoes-Up, how did you have the idea of Fricote ?
We develop a theme for each issue of Shoes-Up magazine.
Shoes-Up #19 published in 2008 focused on FOOD. We had such a feedback on the topics we chose in that issue that we decided to have a recurrent topic about Food.
A topic for urban epicureans. Observing that print press on that slot is a kind of stomach at 12.24pm after 2 hours of maths class with Mme Pichon, empty, we decided to launch Fricote, a magazine for urban epicureans. It's Julien Pham, manager of the development of the DNR group, who take care of the writing department.
Why Fricote (the name) ?
If the magazine is international (english and french text), we were determined to have a name with franch roots.
According to the historical french dictionary (Editions Le Robert 2010), "fricoter" meant "cooking" in 1807.
What's the importance of cooking in your life ?
Each evening for my children. We have a big family at home (5 children), so we have the obligation to prepare good and healthy dishes. My wife leads her own PR agency (Air Presse), so we give some advices to our children in order for them to hand over as soon as possible !
What's your favorite dish?
Croziflette !
The worst one ?
A missed boiled egg.
Your address in Paris ?
Le Coin de verre, a little savoy restaurant hidden in Belleville neighborhood. You have to ring for the boos to open the doors for you and to give a table near the fireplace.

Fricote, social networks consumer ?
We started on the web ten years ago with Shoes-Up and our first newsletter to then create the magazine, the creation agency WAF and the gallery L'Imprimerie. We are now able to give a complete answer to the brands who wish to work on a product launch strategy (creation of a product history, design, artowrks, distribution strategy, sale help tools, communication, events, community managing). The use of our social networks is of course a part of our skills. We do it for our clients and our own products, such as Fricote, that we can summarize by "Fricotons together" !
