Nike Air Force 1 vs 1World project // Things // Added 2008/06/13 at 17:02

At 26 years old, the legendary Nike Air Force 1 has never been better and hundreds of various interpretations are available, in more or less limited series.
If the sneaker freaker planet is in a fever of excitement from Tokyo to Sydney, and Hong Kong to Berlin, blame it on the exciting Nike 1World project!
Inspired by the famous 1982 Nike commercial featuring 6 legendary NBA players, 1World has decided to give 6 innovators per continent (Europe, Asia, and USA - altogether 18 ambassadors worldwide), the opportunity to express their universe via the AF1.
The first of these 18 collaborations to be revealed, from France, is proudly represented by the ever so famous Pedro Winter aka Busy P! If you’ve never heard that name before, you should panic ! The king of Parisian nights in the 90s, soon to become Daft Punk’s manager before launching his own label Ed Banger Records (Uffie, Justice, DJ Mehdi), Busy P, is never short of ideas for overheated dance floors! More than anything, he’s managed to liven up the French and international scene by blending hip-hop, electro and rock, into a fun, sometimes regressive but always awesome mix. It may sound like an obituary, but don’t worry, the guy is sound and alive!
As expected, the design of these Nikes has been handed to artist So-Me, in charge of Ed Banger’s visual communication. This collaboration has given birth to almost fully customized shoes. 178 pairs for France sold at Colette’s, Paris’ essential concept store, starting June 16th!
We can’t wait to discover the 17 other "innovators" selected by Nike and their creations, so, promise, we’ll keep you posted!
Stay Tuned!
