  SIMPLY THE BEST

TOUT POUR LA GAGNE   The year comes to an end, which means "best of": best designer, best music video, best artist, best joke. Lost in a continuous flow of information, we now more than ever need people who take a stand and defend a very personal vision. That’s what we do at Who's Next Blog, and believe us, we have plenty of enemies since we’ve refused some of the posted creations.

Well, it’s just like the Olympics… At one point, you need some winners. What’s good about it? 10 designers that were carefully selected will be presenting their work at the January 2010 Who’s Next session in Paris, in front of more than 50,000 fashion professionals.

  THE WINNERS

ALIX DE MOUSSAC   ALIX DE MOUSSAC
At last, some undies you really feel like wearing… or at least buying for your girlfriend, let’s not get confused! Getting rid of clichés, Alix de Moussac, aged 29, blows a breath of freshness and youth on this very risky item. A good excuse for some extra bedtime!!

  BROKENFAB   BROKENFAB
This 28-year-old designer had already drawn our attention at WSNblog. Sharing her time between London and Zurich, she invites us into a graphic and underground universe with a very communicative energy. To wear while jumping on your bed with your cat in your arms, listening to MIA or Santigold!

  KILLYGRIND   KILLYGRIND
Halfway between urban- and womenswear, Killy Grind plays with styles to develop a very personal world. Unique creations often inspired by vintage pieces wildly customized by our 30-year old Paris-based designer.

  LEITMOTIV   LEITMOTIV
Leitmotiv, a sensational duo made of two 29-year-old designers.  Impeccable designs – Italian DNA always shows… - for creations under the strong influence of prints. Instilling bits of past in our present, that’s their sweet leitmotiv.

  LENA KLAX   LENA KLAX
To help you give free rein to your wild side in 2010, Lena Klax has created necklaces in the effigy of your favorite animals -bears- available in different monochrome colours. We just love the necklace with the bear’s head, to be worn together with claw-adorned necklace. Thanks to this charm, no one will ever dare bother you at parties… let alone talk to you!.

  MILLENEUFCENTQUATREVINGTQUATRE   MILLENEUFCENTQUATREVINGTQUATRE
For young and not so young ones! Kitsch flowers, jewel-loving birds, 3 or 4-eyed cats… The Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre scarves play with fashion codes in a very humorous and witty way. And don’t cats just look great with three eyes?

MORGAN ET SALOMÉ   MORGANE ET SALOMÉ
We really liked the very original details. Morgane and Salomé have an answer to the difficult equation: how to be modern + creative + feminine. They offer a convincing demonstration with a few amazing pieces, such as these jewels made especially to enhance your chest.  Who said you couldn’t be both creative and good at maths?

RABBIT ON THE RUN   RABBIT ON THE RUN
Two (rabbit) ears up for this French designer who now lives in New York! The best in young urban creation, with graphic and tribal influences. Cuts are also great, with some over-sized models for truly modern figures. Rabbit on the Run, FTW!

  STILLGOOD   STILLGOOD
Fashion seen as an extension of graphic art, that’s what Stillgood had in mind. Circles, squares, triangles. Better than a geometry lesson, here is a real art lesson!

  ULRIKA SANDSTROM   ULRIKA SANDSTROM
The presentation of the collection by this Swedish designer comes along with a few verses from a Laura Lee poem called "Pirats". The collection was named Post Piracy as a tribute to Vivienne Westwood’s eponymous 1981 collection.  All the creations have a touch of lightness and elegance. Also a great opportunity to improve your culture…

  THE KANYE WEST MOMENT

LA MINUTE KAYNE WEST   All our team wishes to apologize to Kanye West who really deserved to win the contest, all ten prizes. Unfortunately, he registered past deadline!
We would also like to thank all those who posted their creations on WSNBlog. Keep doing so to gain recognition.
We can already tell you that the next contest will be held in June… and that X-mas is in 3 weeks… And that I have to ride my bike home in the rain…
