			Sometimes you just need to go straight to the point! Discover (as last) the 15 designers selected by the final grand jury. Womenswear, menswear and fashion accessories… you name it! Meet all these designers at the very heart of WHO'S NEXT & PREMIERE CLASSE, September 3rd-6th 2011 in Paris! A First Prize was also awarded in each category. The winners will be revealed at the special preview that will take place during the trade show. They will also be invited at the January 2012 session. So, who’s your special favorite?


			Ladies first, of course… Dissteady "Immersed in the world of painting thanks to his uncle from a very early age, Dissteady creates his pieces in his own Japanese studio. The fabrics he uses are also made in Japan."

			Janjaw "As a child, I wanted to sew. I learnt everything by myself in Thailand. When I want to wear something, I make it come true!"

			Studio BVM "Africa with its vibrant colors and chaotic structures and Europe with its rigid organization and minimalism. Paris is the city junction of these two worlds. I like to mix structure with chaos, in my fabrics, colors and forms."

			Pola Thomson "It comes from my Chilean background, it’s a primary topic bringing into my designs an aura that captures the magic of nature and the wilderness of landscapes I contemplated as a child."

			Raphaelle Hlimi "I am inspired by teenagers attitude (Juergen Teller or Patti Smith), by female artists ( Louise Bourgois, Annette Messager, Sophie Calle...) and by textile design. I really need to feed my appetite for curiosity with art, music and creation of all sorts

			Men are also honored by the WHO'S NEXT BLOG Louis Chow "The inspiration of my collection comes from the Portland Mirrors 1998, installation by Robert Morris. This installation opened the space to the endless reflection of the viewers and also created a visual illusion which the images that differ from objective reality."

			Hachunglee "My collection is influenced by a Korean warrior's tradition and includes functional menswear with unusual detailing as well as oriental silhouette of a dramatic draped collection."

			Agnese Narnicka "My inspiration comes from lazy characters - for example sleepyhead or friendly vagrant. It gave me an opportunity to combine a variety of textures, to search for new forms and silhouettes. It was essential for me to emphasize the importance of contrariety..."

			Nonos “Nonos Homme is glam-rock collection of men’s bowers inspired by the world of catch, the 1930s, and old-time lion tamers. It was born from a desire to approach men’s underwear in a humorous and fun way. I was fed up with this image of a picture-perfect man, who saves lives while standing by his dear wife and lovely kids.”

			Lander “I love architecture and art, and creatively all my inspiration comes from there. I love minimalism, brutalism and pop art, which is a strange combination, however it really works for me, because it gives me that clean look I look for, but edging it up a little bit.”


			Last but not least, our selection of accessories A Peace Treaty "The jewelry collection was inspired by Tin Hanan, the legendary fourth century first queen and founding matriarch of her tribe, the Tuareg desert-dwelling Berber people."

			CA2 Creative "Inspired by the fascinating Chinese tradition of manual paper carving art, we create accessories that combine graphic research and quality of materials. We wanted to incorporate our psychedelic vision on a fine quality leather base to create accessories that naturally fit to the body, like a tattoo."

			Ilariamai "Comme l'oiseau bag's design is pure and minimal, functional and strong in its contrast and its stylistic possibilities. I tried to realize the contrast in the structure: one soft double-faced fabric sac, surrounded by a hard leather handle."

			Nallik "Coming from photography and art direction I am inspired by visual things all around me, but mostly the overlooked, profane everyday beauty. I love working with rough semi-precious stones and transforming them into precious pieces."

			Pagan Poetry "Pagan Poetry is inspired by the first civilizations, Amerindian legends as well as Asian and Eastern cultures, but also the late 19th-century decadence. I like creating jewels that bring back almost mystical images that are not related to the Western or Christian imaginary…"

			So as to give this event even more influence, we asked four outside contributors to lend us a helping hand selecting the winners. Clémence Neukirch, creative fashion buyer for the Paris department store Printemps and Florence Julienne, Fashion Daily News editor, took part in this meeting. Last but not least, today’s essential fashion actors; bloggers Serge (Comme un Camion) and Caroline (Mlle Quincampoix) were also members of the jury. Video available Here Mr Blog
