"I love fashion because its a visual language."
Meet Adieuadieu from Mexico
> Can you briefly introduce yourself ?
I was born in Mexico and moved to Canada when I was 3. I studied ballet and psychology before going to art school in Vancouver and London. I've always been interested in printmaking and drawing and had a screeprinting and design atelier in Montreal for a few years before travelling and finally ending up in Mexico city.

> How did you start designing clothes? Is it something you’ve always wanted to do ?
I hadn't really thought about it, but it came about by accident. I started Adieu as an illustration project for a couple of select stores in Montreal and Amsterdam, the images where screenprinted on hand distressed t-shirts. When I went to Mexico I found a digital printing process that allowed me to print watercolor, photography and ink drawings on fabric and I really loved the outcome so I decided to do my production there and the brand grew.

> What are your sources or inspiration ?
I get inspired mostly from whatever is around me at the time, especially the weather, local colors, and anything or anyone old.

> Fashion, what for ?
I think for some people its a visual way to relate to the world and to show who they want to be. I love fashion because its a visual language.
> Which artists would you like to make discover with the readers ?
I love Nikki S. Lee, she is a photographer that hangs out with different cultural groups and adopts their style and takes pictures with her new group, she has an amazing understanding of all the subtleties that make up a specific style and is great at transforming herself completely.
> Your news? Your projects ?
Right now I am working on adding more styles to the colleccion and introducing new fabrics. I'm also working with the digital printers to create printed rolls of fabric for Adieu.> The one question you’d like to be asked ?
Would you like more dessert?> The thing more the nutcase whom you did see ?
Well I didn't really see it because it happened behind me, but today at breakfast my friend saw the woman behind me take out her dentures and put them in her bra before proceeding to eat. If I had seen it, it would have been the most nutcase thing that comes to mind.> Favorite drink?
I love cucumber water with ice and tequila.
> Describe a successful evening/night ?
Driving around Mexico city listening to Universal Stereo and ending up somewhere new, preferably with live entretainment and Mezcal.> Your favorite adresses in your city ?
1) La Michoacana, its an ice cream shop, they are everywhere and they have popsicles in all my favorite flavors, including chili and pinapple and rice pudding.

2) The Jamaica flower market really late at night, when there aren't too many people and you can see some vendors making flower teddy bears and funeral arrangements while listening to hi-energy music.
3) Portales, its a flea market, i love going there on weekends to find little treasures for my house.
4) The various fruit stands in the city, I think its such a luxury to have fresh fruit everywhere.
> Your last exhibition ?
MACO, the art fair in Mexico city. There were galleries from all over the world.
> Your last concert ?
Well I haven't been to one in a long time but the last live music I heard was this guy wearing "The Crow" make up who sings with his ghettoblaster in front of the restaurants. I love him.
> A motto ?
It changes everyday!> One last word ?
