> How did you come upon the Who's Next Blog and its Young Designer contest?
I watched whosnext.com website and noticed a link to the Who’s Next Blog contest. I had no other option than to apply. I really wanted to participate in the Who’s Next exhibition. It has now happened. Thanks for all the decision makers!
> What was your reaction when you found out you'd won?
When I receive an e mail I read it. Then read it again. Just after the third time reading I realized, yes it is a fact, I've really won. Then came a wave of joy, that gave me a sudden inspiration to start dancing in my studio
> Can you briefly introduce yourself ?
I have a master degree in fashion arts graduated from the Latvian Art Academy in 2009. I have enriched my knowledge and experience in Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Italy, Milano. Since 2006 I start focused mainly on developing my own label that aims to arrive at a solution in between the tendencies set by the fashion industry and sufficient individuality, creating a design which lives for several seasons. My hometown is Riga, Latvia, a major port and industrial Baltic metropolis known for fabulous art nouveau and neoclassical architecture. For me it is important that the fashion industry does not become boring, and filled with redundancy. My clothing reflects current international culture, with a glimpse of history and a vision to the future.

> How did you start designing clothes? Is it something you’ve always wanted to do ?
As a child I was interested in a variety of creative things. Also now still attracts me and inspired a variety of creative industries. However, my choice for a fashion came very naturally. I am committed to this decision for more than 10 years, when I started to study in Art and Design school of Riga.
> What are your sources of inspiration ?
Currently my inspiration comes from people and especially lazy characters - for example sleepyhead or friendly vagabond. In the past I wasmore inspired by science like physics and biology.
> Fashion, what for ?
For life.
> Which artists would you like to make discover with the readers ?
Aitor Throup. This artist is one of the most striking fashion designer and the fashion
illustrator in the same time.
> Your news? Your projects ?
Currently I am creating a new collection which will be based on awsome design jeans with excellent quality. This will be visible in WHO'S NEXT in Paris.
> Your favorite adresses in your city ?
Young fashion designers concept store Paviljons in Riga, Latvia

How do you see your label in the future?
> Favorite drink?
Really good espresso.
> Describe a successful evening/night ?
For example Positivus music festival what takes place each year in mid-summer by the seaside in Latvia town Salacgriva. The breathtaking scenery of the festival’s location, set in the woods next to the beach of a beautiful coastal town together with a friendly and open crowd makes it a different experience even for experienced festival-goers. Since I have a tradition to visit this fest I have one of the best moment of the year with friends and really good music.
> The thing more the nutcase whom you did see ?
I then was a child, but the Latvian democratic recovery stayed strong in my memory. The Baltic Way was a unique, peaceful mass demonstration, held on 23 August 1989, when more than one million people joined hands in a 600 km long human chain across the three Baltic countries, bringing Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania's commitment to democracy and freedom. It was a crazy time, and incredibly beautiful.
> Your last concert ?
