> Can you briefly introduce yourself?

I’m Brokenfab aka Fabienne Morel. I am a textile designer and an accessories designer specialising in beadwork. Brokenfab is a textile and fashion label. I live and work in London and Zurich.

> How did you start doing jewels? Is it your job or just a hobby?

At the beginning it was a hobby, which developed into a profession.
As a child I already was making necklaces, bracelets out of beads, of course much simpler. I do remember, I was 7 years old, on holiday, all the children from the neighbourhood including lots of boys were making necklaces.

> What are your inspiration sources?

For the latest collection I took inspiration from music and club culture and today’s urban landscape. I love going out, dancing, especially in London.
Also I adore African artwork, textiles and beadwork.

> Fashion: what for?

To express yourself. One day you feel like a diva, the next you are a disco dancer. Today we can dress however we want to.

> Your news? Your projects?

DJ Sassy J and I are launching the collective Pyramid Girls. We are organising events where we are celebrating the music we love.
This October we will be doing an exhibition in a gallery where I exhibit beaded objects and a club night with guests like Sa Ra Creative Partners (Ubiquity/USA) in Switzerland.
