This week, meet Hachung Lee !




> How did you come upon the Who's Next Blog and its Young Designer contest?
I came across this contest on my university website.



> What was your reaction when you found out you'd won?
To be honest, I didn’t expect that I would be the one of winners at all. I just talked to myself like ‘What? Me?’ when I saw a winners list including my name.





> Can you briefly introduce yourself ?
I am originally from South Korea but have studied menswear at London College of Fashion since I came to the United Kingdom in 2007. Finally, I am just looking forward to my graduation on middle of July, this year. I have also experience in working as an intern for a couple of London based menswear designers while in college.



> How did you start designing clothes? Is it something you’ve always wanted to do ?
The reason why I design is that I have always wanted to express my identity as a visible outcome. To be a professional designer is the only one that I aspire to at the moment.





> What are your sources of inspiration ?
I don’t usually focus on particular things in my daily life. Furthermore, there are so many to get an inspiration in this world but I should say that my latest collection came from the film at the early stage of the research process.



> Fashion, what for ?
The satisfaction of desire.





> Which artists would you like to make discover with the readers ?
Ben Templesmith and Nam June Paik.





> Your news? Your projects ?
I am currently working on two projects which are more wearable version of my graduate collection and Spring/Summer 2012 collection in November.



> Your favorite adresses in your city ?
I love fresh air as well as peaceful place. My answer for this question should be Hampstead Heath in London if you ask me where I want to go now.





> The one question you’d like to be asked ?
Probably, “Why?”. I am glad when someone asks me why. It makes me to think about myself.



> Favorite drink?
A shot of tequila with salt and lime.



> Describe a successful evening/night ?
The night with tipsy myself, candlelight, enough cigarettes and songs of Beirut.





> The thing more the nutcase whom you did see ?
Definitely, my classmates. Their work are truly amazing.



> Your last concert ?
The concert of Nell in Seoul.





> Your last exhibition ?
Yohji Yamamoto exhibition at the V&A in London.



> A motto ?
Killers, kill!
