Meet Mathilde 2C a.k.a. Mathilde Baissas de Chastenet, one of the four designers who have won the WHO'S NEXT BLOG Contest in the Accessory section with her lovely leather goods.
We will be able to meet her and discover her creations at the WHO'S NEXT trade show in Paris , 21-24 January.
Can you briefly introduce yourself ? Who are you in real life?
Like my brand and my L.A. bag I like the ambivalence of personalities, my A-side and my B-side. What do we chose to reveal after all ?
After a Communications Master and Fashion design studies, a job in an agency and another one as an accessories designer, I decided to launch my own brand which combines fashion, music, travels with a contrariness and rebellion vs quiet as a mouse.
A childhood = in the South
A passion = Accessories
A hobby = travels
A music = of emotion

An outfit = little dress + feather earrings + cowboy boots + L.A. bag

How did you come upon the Who's Next Blog and its Young Designer contest?
I'm used to visit the WHO'S NEXT trade show each season and I discovered WHO'S NEXT BLOG thanks to friends of mine.
What made you decide to step into this profession?
I believe when I was a child I've always known I would work in Fashion, unless it would have been in Music.
I've always preferred accessories, beginning by pencil cases at school ! I bought my first bag at 10, it was a basic canvas bag Sonia Rykiel and I created my first bags at the age of 20 and I've never stopped since, hoping to continue for a long time.
Fashion, what for?
A vocation, a desire of sharing emotions through a story, a travel, creations.
Your favorite addresses in your city?
The café A for its terrace in summer, a heaven of peace, sheltered from the Parisian tumult.

Your last concert ?
Birkii, a sweet voice floats over late 80's rhythms, you should listen to her song "Shade of Doubt" in a continuous loop.
Your last exhibition ?
Françoise de Chastenet, a touching and enriching exhibition about the relationships between humans and nature, and JR, a contemporary artist at the Perrotin gallery.
Where would you like to travel ?
Go back to Mexico, I feel a special affection for this country. And I would like to discover Mongolia through an initiatory journey.
Describe a successful evening/night?
Unforeseen and unexpected.
Friday night out, what’s you favourite drink?
The Chicharito, a cocktail with cucumber, spices and tequila that you can taste at the stage door near the Cirque d'Hiver (Paris 75011).
Your news and plans for the future?
An ephemeral shop during 1 month and a half next September, rue Vieille du Temple Paris 75004.
A development focused on South Korea.
