> Can you briefly introduce yourself?

I am Sasa Kovacevic, originally coming from Serbia currently living and tudying in Berlin.The name of the school that I intent is Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee.

> How did you start designing clothes? Is it something you’ve always wanted to do?

Well back there in Serbia I was a professional dancer in National Ensemble 
Kolo which is big theatre with a lot of costumes that I use to perform
 with.
I was always fascinated whit the costumes and slowly I was reading 
about the history of its. Sings,symbols and power of appearances of 
clothing and in some point I decided to prepare for studying for school of
are in Belgrade,which latter brought me in Berlin for the same reasons

> What are you sources or inspiration?

Mostly the inspiration is from the country where am I coming from, I incorporate lot of beliefs from my home land and the situations in which I was involved.

> Do you have a favourite piece and why?

I am not sure that I understand this question ,If you mean for theater piece that is definitive the Impromptus by Sasha Walz,which reminded me on war in ex Yugoslavia the piece left on me so powerful statement that I was in next months just thinking and talking of this...

> Fashion, what for?

Thru Fashion I express variety of ideas,political and historical moments, sings and symbols in public environment , public appearances of clothing, all of this helps me as designer to leave a trace in history of fashion

> Your news? Your projects?

 

I am about to start my graduate project which refer on "I am good
Socialist!" it is big and complex theme so I am starting it slowly. It will
be finished next year in October,I am also about to change my label in 3
lines, to redesign the look of my label and to write a manifest of
clothing(Sadaks manifest of clothing) but still it is going to leave the same
concept like it is now.

> Do you already sell your collection in stores? Where? how did you manage to find selling points?

 

There is more and more people which are interested in my work,most of them
are also afraid ,seeing that I am still a student and that I dont show my
cloths in Paris ,but there is showroom in Berlin ,Tokyo and soon will be in
New York
They find me I am not looking at them.

dunkeles hefe (bier) very german although am not german

> Describe a successful evening/night?

one of the greatest things is when I finish my collection and show it public on a fashion show ,than I fill like king of the world

> Your last concert?

I was in Berlin Philharmonics, the evening of Bach( classical music)

> Your last exhibition?

was in Hamburger bahnhof the Wolfgang Tillmans photo exhibition

ha,ha...is the first word which I learn in german and that is Kugelschreiber, I don t know why this word is since ages is in my brain(it means pencil, stupid isnt it?)
