Amazing Trackbikes and other fixed gears // Things // 2008/10/06 at 10:48

No brakes on the handlebars, maximum speed, cycling at its best... Track Bikes are leaving the tracks to take over the streets. San Francisco, Taiwan, Tokyo, New York & Seattle are the pioneers of this movement. Fascinating.
Used as work tools by messengers in major American cities, track bikes are an alternative to those who are allergic to cars, not too scared, and want to turn the cities into a huge playground. Year after year, communities are growing and getting structured.
San Francisco is the HQ for team MASHSF - check their videos there - and aficionados in Taiwan have turned into activists with the "More Bike, Less Car" campaign.
