Meet Tatachristiane from Berlin, Germany

> Can you briefly introduce yourself ?


I studied classic literature and philosophy for 5 years in Paris and one year in Germany. At the same time, I trained myself in sewing, especially at the beginning as wardrobe master for young theater companies and by various training courses at stylists and wardrobe masters in Paris. In 2007 I founded with Hanrigabriel the label Tata Christiane.








> How did you start designing clothes? Is it something you’ve always wanted to do ?

As far as I remember, I always had a relationship to clothes and costumes. As well through my own dresses, as through my readings, paintings, movies, theater pieces, opera and travels.







> What are your sources or inspiration ?

A lot of various things.



> Fashion, what for ?


I have an ambiguous relation to fashion.
It stays for me the relation I have to the world and the way of expressing a certain poetry of how to be in it. It is also immoderation and spectacular, a vision of a world fed by imagination and creative games, in relation to present, past and forthcoming time. As many things, it is about a piece of fiction that opens a breach in the reality, questioning it or making it smile. Fashion is also for me a crossing of the various arts and ways of expression, in a playful dynamic of life.

> Your news? Your projects ?


On Friday 15.04.2011, my clothes will be within an art performance with Daria Marchik for an event in Berlin Wear is art, with various burlesque performers and models. Saturday 16.04.2011 i will attend a party with our design collective The Offer in the Antje Oeklesund location in Berlin. After that i will prepare a fashion show for June at Fashionclash Maastricht and the next fashionweek in Berlin. I have also to do costume for a band, a clown and a trapeze artist.

> Describe a successful evening/night ?


With a project, Fiction of a ball, a feeling of very intense internal enjoyment.
